    Commercial Manager                                                       2005-2006

     

    Since November 2005, I have been working in the commercial department for new business, in particular with business related to Public Safety, conventional CCTV systems and Video-IP for monitoring cities, traffic monitoring systems, radars and the development of digital cities.

    Operations Manager                                              2002-2005

     

    From March 2002, I took over management of the business’ Radio Communications department, reporting to the board of directors by the business’ results. The main, inherent activities of the position consisted of:

     

    ·        Creation of annual business plans and follow-up of its results, once approved by the board of directors.

    ·        Creation  of commercial and technical proposals as well as sales follow-up, interacting with commercial representatives in various cities where we had trunking operations;

    ·        Customer care coordination, regarding problem solving and technical support

    ·        Coordination of the field maintenance team in transmission sites

    ·        Coordination of projects’ preparation for the implementation of new sites, regarding the contraction of a business for the preparation of projects of forecast coverage, technical feasibility studies and site surveys.

    ·        Coordination of preparation of technical projects for the attainment of Anatel’s operating licences.

    ·        Coordination of new sites’ implementations.

    ·        Coordination of operational logistics in respect of location, materials’ receipt, delivery, technical assistance, parts’ replacement and acquisition of new components.

    Systems Engineer                                      1992 - 2002

     

    ·        Responsible for the creation of technical proposals, pre-sales and solutions presentations as well as products for clients, in particular cellular operators and wireless ISPs.  Preparation of projects for the attainment of a Multimedia Communication Service (SCM) license at Anatel.

    ·        Temporarily managed the business’ Marketing department from 1998 to 1999, especially from an institutional aspect. Coordinated the reformulation of the business’ Website, coordinated the participation of the company in events such as TELEXPO and FUTURECOM, from the hiring of space to hiring stand assembly contractors, hiring support teams, buffets and hospitality during the events.  Coordinated the creation of product advertising folders and coordinated the media vehicles used for advertising, such as industry journals and magazines .

    ·        Worked in the preparation of the winning proposal for the digitalization of EMBRATEL’s voice network, in 1995, that involved the purchase and delivery of digital multiplier voice compression equipment (DCME) for optimizing the interconnection of central offices mainly located in the north and central west regions of the country, which used Band C satellite transponders. The project involved a search for international partners who would compose the solution that consisted of digitalization and voice compression equipment, and directional satellite converters and their respective modems, as well as centralization management and equipment integration.

    ·        Worked in the preparation of a proposal that won the bid for the implementation of a Metropolitan Data Communications Network in Curitiba, in 1992, the network was composed of Data Multiplexing Equipment, Cross-conects and modems, with an access capacity for 8,000 data communications users. Participated in contract negotiations, implementation support, partnership contracts with the Italian business Marconi S.p.A, technology supplier, that was being implemented for the first time in the country. It was the first large contract closed for the company in this country.

    Documentation Department Coordinator           1989–1992

     

    At the time SPLICE developed systems and products, with their own technology and others, in partnership with other development laboratories of Telephony Operators such as TELEBRAS, especially in agreement with the CPQD. The requirements in respect to product documentation were rigorous, which led SPLICE to create a specific department to deal with the subject together with clients of the TELEBRAS system.  The coordination of this department was credited to myself. The subject documentation ceased to be a problem for contract negotiations after the creation of this department. With the market’s opening in the 90’s, the national development gave a place to technology transference partnerships with foreign businesses and the operations of this department consisted of translating and adapting documentation to national standards.

    Documentation Engineer                          1986 - 1989

     

    I was engaged by SPLICE to prepare technical documentation for developed products.  Consisted of wording System, Operation, Installation and Maintenance manuals, such as hardware documentation (electronic circuits and technical descriptions and blocks, wiring diagrams, etc), which were the base for the elaboration of production processes. This work was done by interaction with development engineers. 

Background:

  • MBA in Entrepreneurial Business Management at FGV – completed in June 2006.

  • Graduate in Electronic Engineering with emphasis in Telecommunications and Electronics at Sorocaba University of Engineering (FACENS). Period: 1978 – 1982.

  • Middle school: Escola Estadual Octávio Novaes de Carvalho – 1975 to 1977

  • Junior school: Colégio Santa Escolástica – 1966 to 1974.
